A collector egg in support of Ukraine
in partnership with the Fondation de France
The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 and all its staff have decided to show their solidarity with the Ukrainian people by doing what they know best: an enamel!
Faithful to its tradition, the company chose to make an egg, symbol of life and renewal, on which the gold and blue of the Ukrainian flag are displayed.
Made in Longwy and decorated by hand, this genuine collector's item is produced in a limited edition of only 300 pieces, at a price of 260 €.
The "Solidarity Ukraine" egg is on sale in the three shops in Longwy, Metz and Nancy and on www.emauxdelongwy.com
"Thanks to our partnership with the Fondation de France, we can be sure that the funds raised will be deployed to finance actions that are as close as possible to the needs of Ukrainians. A reporting system for the actions implemented will also be set up, with precise traceability of the funds paid out and the associations supported." Martin Pietri President of the Manufacture |
All profits will be donated to the Fondation de France as part of the "Solidarité Ukraine" operation launched on 28 February. The Fondation de France's actions are based on two priorities: emergency aid (basic needs of the population) and longer-term support, in cooperation with European foundations, to accompany these populations over the long term.
PARIS DECO OFF
Longwy enamels at the fair
The new edition of Paris Déco Off, which took place from Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 March 2022, celebrated the best of international interior design.
More than a hundred people gathered at the Manufactures EMBLEM showroom at 122 rue de Grenelle, Paris 7ème, for the cocktail party organised on Thursday evening.
The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 was in the spotlight with its emblematic pieces and its recent collaboration with the Maison Saint-Laurent.
The professionals were able to see and appreciate the latest novelties from Emaux de Longwy with the Coloniale Extravaganza ball, the 4 perfume diffusers and the new Héritage square box (box for chocolates or other sweets).
As part of the photographic exhibition "France, patrimoine et territoires d'exception" inaugurated on March 16 by the President of the French Senate, Gérard Larcher, we are pleased to see our Manufacture's expertise selected and exhibited among the 82 photographs hung on the gates of the Luxembourg Gardens in Paris.
The exhibition runs until July 3, 2022.
France Patrimoines et Territoires d'exception

Joyce Gallery - PARIS
Initiated by the French Cliché label, the "Lotus bleu" project presents three different stages in the creation of a work of art at our Manufacture: drawing on the raw material, reproduction by our craftsmen and enamel decoration.
The "La voie" vase will soon be followed by 2 other creations by Antoine Carbonne, reflecting on fluids and "paying homage to water, which has no memory", unlike porcelain, the clay that keeps track of the impulses and constraints received during shaping.
Antoine Carbonne painted his creation directly on our vase, an exercise that demands precision and concentration, as no mistake is allowed...
Once the decor has been painted by the artistour craftsmen trace the design on sheets of tracing paper. The outlines are then transposed onto silk paper, which in turn is transposed onto the cookie vase before the final enameling stage.

MANUFACTURES EMBLEM OPENS ITS FIRST U.S. SHOWROOM
IN NEW YORK
Manufactures EMBLEM, a group of four leading French manufacturers, is opening its first American showroom in SoHo on the occasion of the NYCxDESIGN international design festival.
Inspired by a chic Parisian garden, this showroom was designed to embody the quintessence of French style and refinement. This showcase highlights the exceptional know-how and the art of living of the EMBLEM companies: Maison Taillardat, Maison Craman-Lagarde, Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy 1798 and Vernaz & Filles.
A staging to sublimate the Houses
Designer Anne Pericchi Draeger played the card of a rich and warm decor using a wide range of colors, textures and patterns. The result: a place like a bonbonniere that showcases the treasures of French craftsmanship.
Each House is represented through strong pieces emblematic of their respective know-how: Chevreuse sofa embellished with gold leaf, Choiseul shepherdess and Murat chair by Maison Taillardat are dressed with Pierre Frey, Métaphore and Dedar fabrics. The magnificent Bishop stool byIndia Mahdavi
and the Chou vase by Pierre Gonalons present the Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy 1798. The gilding work of Vernaz & Filles is, for its part, magnified on a splendid mirror. So many exceptional pieces that give life to the place. In a nod to the EMBLEM logo, the Queen console by Maison Taillardat is decorated with an elegant bee motif.
To complete this setting, walls and ceilings are covered with a Zuber wallpaper with a blue sky garden trellis pattern. The Codimat carpet
with banana leaves is a re-edition of Madeleine Castaing.
Nicolas Lequeux
new creations for the Manufacture
Following on from his Art Décool collection launched last year, Nicolas Lequeux has designed a series of graphic, colorful sellettes and dishes inspired by the ceramics of Mediterranean villa facades, in an asymmetrical version of Art Déco.
"AFTER ALL"
These hybrid objects are precious, mobile harnesses whose function depends on the user's imagination. At home, they can be used to place your bag next to your favorite armchair, or your coffee cup in front of your sofa.
Placed on a table or chest of drawers, they create height with a vase or sculpture on top. In a store window, they can be used to present a product elegantly on different levels.
I designed these objects with a perennial aspect in mind. They will be passed on and their uses will evolve with time and their owners. Hence my proposals for multiple uses.
Nicolas Lequeux
Art Décool bowls
The geometric variations of the 12 cups evoke a naive sunset on the beaches of the South, or a big, abstract Pac-Man smile, a nod to the desire to smile indoors while wearing masks outdoors.

LEGENDARY CARS
A saga in Longwy enamel
Through its unique know-how and ancestral technique of cloisonné enamels, Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 retraces the history of extraordinary classic cars in its new collection.
This collection is the beginning of a SAGA honoring the mythical cars of the most prestigious brands in automotive history from 4 countries represented by 3 models: France, Italy, the United Kingdom and Germany.
An opportunity to confirm that the passion of the Houses to offer the best of their know-how always gives way to beauty and excellence. These are common values shared by illustrious racing teams and Manufactures like ours: virtuosity, audacity and singularity.
THREE MYTHICAL MODELS
Designer Philippe Para's drawings, strong lines and deep colors convey the uniqueness of our house, combined with the memories we all have of these legendary models.
These cloisonné enamel designs are applied to our iconic Art Deco ball. For the occasion, it's topped with a Monza fuel filler cap in brushed, platinum-polished cast iron. Created and crafted by Maison Craman-Lagarde for discerning collectors, this object is housed in a macassar ebony case. Entirely sheathed in leather and crafted by Craman-Lagarde, this case can also be used as a stelle to reveal the full sophistication of this collection.
About Craman-Lagarde
Located in Revel for five generations, Maison Craman-Lagarde perpetuates the excellence and tradition of fine cabinetmaking, thanks to the talents of craftsmen specialized in the replication of high quality 18th century and Art Deco pieces, as well as in contemporary creations and editions. His first travel-themed creations for Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 in the early 2000s have now become classics.
CALL FOR ART DECO BALL PROJECTS
AWARD CEREMONY
From 15 March to 15 June 2021, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of its iconic vase and for the first time in its history, the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 launched a call for projects for the Art Deco ball and invited young designers to propose their vision of both the decoration and the shape of the vase.
The projects had to meet the following two criteria:
- To be a piece of earthenware biscuit
- Be able to withstand the constraints of a cloisonne enamel decoration
IMAGINING THE ART DECO BALL OF THE 21st CENTURY
The jury, chaired by India Mahdavi and made up of designers, creators and personalities, judged the projects on their originality, creativity, qualities and relevance with regard to technical and decorative issues, and on their ability to become reality.
Some fifty projects were received as a breath of modernity, freshness and boldness in keeping with the DNA of the Manufacture.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The prize-giving ceremony took place at the Manufactures EMBLEM showroom in Paris on 9 September in the presence of the young designers, members of the jury and numerous personalities.
Two prizes were awarded instead of the three initially planned (a 1st prize, a 2nd and a 3rd) to :
- 1st Prize: Arthur RISTOR for La Parure
- 2nd Prize: Elen GAVILLET for her Vase Cosse
Each of the winners will receive a prize of €3,000 for the first and €2,000 for the second, and their creations will be published in a limited edition and presented to the public. The new shapes will be included in the Manufacture's catalogue and may serve as a basis for future designs.
La Parure by Arthur RISTOR
"La Parure is the result of work based on the exploration of models that have shaped the history of the Manufacture. Numerous decorative elements have been revisited to make up the adornment of this new ball.
For its 90th anniversary, the Art Deco Ball retains its iconic silhouette while separating it from a new volume decoration.
The decoration is deliberately non-figurative, made of more or less divided colour applications that give the cloisonné technique a frank and contemporary character.
a frank and contemporary character.
The colour contrasts and the dynamics of the lines highlight the overall proportions of the object.
The Parure ball is a festive version of the Art Deco ball, dressed to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
2nd Prize
The Cosse vase by Elen GAVILLET
"I wanted to keep the spherical shape of the original Boule vase.
I rethought the lines by drawing a second skin to envelop the central circular shape in levitation.
This extra thickness makes it possible to play with two cloisonné enamel motifs that dialogue together on the same piece."
The first motif is inspired by the scales of fish and the aquatic fauna of the abyss. These shapes are repeated and give rhythm to the surface of the earthenware vase.
The second is inspired by aquatic flora, corals and dancing algae. This design embraces the first one.
