Our shops in Longwy, Metz and Nancy will welcome you again from Tuesday 12 May.

Adapted opening hours
Tuesday to Friday from 1pm to 6.30pm and Saturday from 11am to 6pm.

All the sanitary measures are taken to receive you in the best conditions:

  • Priority RDV click&collect
  • Hydro-alcoholic gel available at the entrance of the shops
  • Small number (maximum 2) and safe distance between clients
  • Customer advisors equipped with masks, gloves
  • Handling of the products by our customer advisors only
  • Regular cleaning of surfaces (counters, handles, payment terminals, etc.)

Colouring Game

Many of you participated in our contest"Color your Longwy Easter egg" and we thank you for that.

While waiting for the selection of the 10 finalists in each category, we offer you a series of coloring on the emblematic model of our Manufacture, the colonial ball. And we look forward to seeing your colorful entries!
Do not hesitate to send them to us by the messaging system of our facebook page, we will publish them in the album.

A little history...

In 1931, Maurice Paul Chevalier became the chief decorator of the Longwy faience factory. That same year he created the decoration for the colonial ball presented and awarded at the 1931 Paris Colonial Exhibition. This decoration announces the end of the art deco wave and the return to floral and Japanese inspiration.

In this period of confinement, we propose to entertain children of all ages, and even older children, with a choice of 3 colourings to be made on eggs from the historical designs of our Manufacture, the designs D188, D5675 and D5685.
Let your children's imagination run wild, there is no need to reproduce exactly the chosen pattern, on the contrary, dare to be different and creative, like for example our new Tutti Frutti collection based on the D188 pattern.
Download the printable pdf file of your choice in A4 format, once coloured, scan it or photograph it and send it back to us via our facebook page.
A photo album of the drawings will be published, the one that our jury will choose will win his or her enamel creation.

Dear Friends of the Manufacture,

 

In a few hours, our lives have been turned upside down. We hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

For the Manufacture, in compliance with government recommendations to fight the spread of COVID-19 and to preserve the health of our employees, we have stopped our production until further notice.

We will resume work as soon as possible, but in the meantime, only the commercial services and the website continue to operate.

For the Manufacture, as for all of us, this is one more test that we must overcome collectively.

In keeping with our tradition, for Easter we planned to launch an exceptional egg from the Collector Easter 2020 created this year by Nicolas de Waël:

In the face of the exceptional situation that we are collectively experiencing, our priority is to preserve the health of our staff, the guarantee of our know-how, our customers, the public and our families.

The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 temporarily closes its workshops and shops in Longwy/Metz/Nancy and adapts the organisation of work to guarantee the safety and serenity of everyone.

We have set up teleworking for our administrative and commercial teams that you can reach at the usual addresses or our contact form, by telephone at 03.82.24.30.94 for our Longwy site and at 09.62.27.59.42 for our Internet shop.
During this period, you can place your orders online.

Taking into account our usual manufacturing delays, we have selected for you our models available at a special price, deliverable by carrier to your home in compliance with the sanitary measures recommended by the competent authorities.
For all purchases outside this list, our manufacturing times will depend on how long our production facilities are closed.

For Epiphany 2020, the Expert Pastry chefs of Lorraine offer a box of porcelain beans, on the theme of cats decorated by the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy.

To be found in this boxed set of 8 cats our designs"Bucolic","I love Longwy","Flora","Mini couché rouge", "Tout Or","Multan","Cirque" and"Hommage à Gallé".

Each bean measures 2.8 cm in height, 1.5 cm in width and depth and weighs 11 grams.
Enamelled in 24 carat gold.

The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 will be exhibiting the work 6 oiseaux by Françoise Petrovitch as part of the major exhibition of the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art at the Mobilier national, Galerie des Gobelins in Paris; an exhibition placed under the high patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic.

From 29 March, the know-how of the regions is invited to Paris for the major exhibition of the European Crafts Days, which showcases the wealth and innovation of French crafts.

Visit the National Furniture, Galerie des Gobelins, for a walk through the heart of regional know-how entitled " Métiers d'art, Signatures des territoires ".

The egg is a symbol of new life

Giving eggs as gifts at Easter or to celebrate the arrival of spring has been a tradition for hundreds of years.
In the countryside, the bells ring every day of the year to invite the faithful to attend mass. Except at Easter when they are silent from Holy Thursday to Holy Saturday. It is at this time that they leave for Rome to be blessed. All chiming, they are back at Easter and bring back eggs under their cast iron skirts, which they drop randomly in the garden of the good children.
