A free event open to the general public and professionals, PARIS DECO OFF returns to the rue du Mail and Saint-Germain des Prés districts for its eleventh edition, during which 117 international houses will be playing the open door game. An opportunity to discover manufacturing secrets and sources of inspiration.

For Epiphany 2020, the Expert Pastry chefs of Lorraine offer a box of porcelain beans, on the theme of cats decorated by the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy.

To be found in this boxed set of 8 cats our designs"Bucolic","I love Longwy","Flora","Mini couché rouge", "Tout Or","Multan","Cirque" and"Hommage à Gallé".

Each bean measures 2.8 cm in height, 1.5 cm in width and depth and weighs 11 grams.
Enamelled in 24 carat gold.

The beans are sold in boxes or individually in the network of Expert Pastry Chefs of Lorraine, in our stores in Longwy, Metz, Nancy and on our website with a guaranteed delivery between 48 to 72 hours.

Founded in 1798, the Faïencerie de Longwy had its moment of glory during the visit of Emperor Napoleon I, who ordered dinner services for the Imperial Houses of the Legion of Honour.
To celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the illustrious man, the Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798, is reissuing the famous Soupière du Service in an ultra-limited and numbered edition of 20 pieces.

The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 will be exhibiting the work 6 oiseaux by Françoise Petrovitch as part of the major exhibition of the Journées Européennes des Métiers d'Art at the Mobilier national, Galerie des Gobelins in Paris; an exhibition placed under the high patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the Republic.

From 29 March, the know-how of the regions is invited to Paris for the major exhibition of the European Crafts Days, which showcases the wealth and innovation of French crafts.

Visit the National Furniture, Galerie des Gobelins, for a walk through the heart of regional know-how entitled " Métiers d'art, Signatures des territoires ".

Dedicated for the first time to the anchoring of art crafts in the territories, the exhibition will present exceptional pieces of innovation and will bring together a selection of art crafts in the regions, from the young signature to the Masters of Art, from schools to confirmed workshops.

The egg is a symbol of new life

Giving eggs as gifts at Easter or to celebrate the arrival of spring has been a tradition for hundreds of years.
In the countryside, the bells ring every day of the year to invite the faithful to attend mass. Except at Easter when they are silent from Holy Thursday to Holy Saturday. It is at this time that they leave for Rome to be blessed. All chiming, they are back at Easter and bring back eggs under their cast iron skirts, which they drop randomly in the garden of the good children.

During the Renaissance, the royal courts of England and France offered magnificent eggs. Hens' eggs were replaced by golden eggs. Decorated with precious metals, gems, enamels and paintings by artists.
King Louis XIV himself distributed eggs painted with gold leaf to his courtiers.

The enamel factory celebrates its 220th anniversary

Founded in 1798, the Longwy enamel factory is celebrating its 220th anniversary this year. 1798 saw the foundation of the Faïencerie in Longwy in a former convent.

A production renowned since the First Empire: the Emperor Napoleon the First, after his visit to the "workshop of the factory", ordered the tableware for the Imperial houses of the Legion of Honour.

In 1835, the earthenware factory passed into the hands of the Huart family for 140 years, and from then on it prospered.

In order to "fight back in France" against the growing imports from China and Japan, the d'Huarts brought the Italian Amédée de Carenza to Longwy - around 1872 - who brought with him the exclusive techniques that would enable him to produce enamels on earthenware.

The famous "Émaux de Longwy" were born and their reputation would only grow.

To celebrate their 220th anniversary, the Manufacture is coming to the Bristol. Bastien Brousse, the hotel's floral designer, has chosen the house's vases to sublimate his new settings which adorn the hotel's common areas. A beautiful setting for the house which celebrates its 220th anniversary this year and an opportunity for us to look back at the history of this extraordinary manufacture.

Received by Martin Pietri, president, the famous lady with the hat posed with great pleasure in the middle of the workshop team, these little hands that perpetuate an exceptional French know-how.
