Bicentenary of the death of Napoleon 1821-2021

The 5th of May 2021 will mark the bicentenary of the death of Emperor Napoleon I on St. Helena.

Napoleon I is part of the history of our factory.
In 1806, the young Emperor visited the fortress of Longwy and noticed the production of earthenware. He ordered a dinner service from the faience factory for the Houses of the Legion of Honour.

From this prestigious service, we still have a tureen skilfully molded, with two eagle-shaped holds, a frieze of laurels and bees.

The memory of the Emperor remains alive at the Faïencerie which regularly publishes pieces for the commemorations of the Napoleonic epic.
We therefore wished to present an exceptional piece to commemorate the anniversary of his death:
An egg of 12 cm, imperial green background, enhanced with gold, on which are represented several Napoleonic symbols: the cockade bicorn, bees and laurel friezes, the imperial eagle, the hand of justice.

Numbered and strictly limited to 200 copies.

Collector & Colours

Faithful to tradition, our Manufacture offers each year a collector Easter egg, Féerik in 2021, accompanied by a new colorful series signed Nicolas De Waël.

 

Collector 2021

Numbered and limited to 200 copies, Féerik is dressed in golden reflections on a deep blue background, an invitation to dream in fairy-like dreams.

Special Series

Pol, Giver, Yayo and Florès Colorées form an Easter quartet, numbered and limited edition of 500.
The Easter egg is the symbol of a new life, of rebirth and of the arrival of Spring. Nicolas De Waël, whose qualities as a colorist are recognized as a signature, signs here a special series with cheerful and joyful notes.

A little history...

In 1931, Maurice Paul Chevalier became the chief decorator of the Longwy faience factory. That same year he created the decoration for the colonial ball presented and awarded at the 1931 Paris Colonial Exhibition. This decoration announces the end of the art deco wave and the return to floral and Japanese inspiration.

The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 temporarily closes its workshops and shops in Longwy/Metz/Nancy and adapts the organisation of work to guarantee the safety and serenity of everyone.

We have set up teleworking for our administrative and commercial teams that you can reach at the usual addresses or our contact form, by telephone at 03.82.24.30.94 for our Longwy site and at 09.62.27.59.42 for our Internet shop.
During this period, you can place your orders online.

Taking into account our usual manufacturing delays, we have selected for you our models available at a special price, deliverable by carrier to your home in compliance with the sanitary measures recommended by the competent authorities.
For all purchases outside this list, our manufacturing times will depend on how long our production facilities are closed.

Of course, we are always ready to listen to you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service.

Store reopening Longwy after renovation

Undergoing renovations since the beginning of the month, our Longwy store reopened its doors on Tuesday August 20 at 9am in a completely refurbished setting.

The space has been redesigned to be brighter and more airy, highlighting our creations.

We look forward to welcoming you at the following times:

Created in 1961 by a small group of Italian furniture manufacturers to promote the export of their creations, the Milan Furniture Fair has become a major global design event with over 300,000 visitors from more than 150 countries.

Longwy exhibits in Milan

The Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy 1798 will be present on the ZANOTTA stand, Hall 16 Stand A23/B20, with the works of Lukas Works(Silencio and Kiss) as well as the Héritage Noir astro flo ball.

Permanent exhibition Alain Thomas

LE CARRE A LA FARINE in Versailles hosts from November 14 to 25, 2018 from 12:00 to 7:00 pm, weekends from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, the exhibition of the painter-illustrator Alain Thomas, placed under the high patronage of the City of Versailles and François de Rugy, Minister of State, Minister of Ecological and Solidarity Transition.

Dedication of Alain Thomas on the occasion of the release of the book Le Cantique d'Alain Thomas Sunday, November 25 from 3 to 6 pm.
