Catherine Gouny is a painter and stylist specializing in the world of the home. A decorative painter since graduating from the Beaux Arts and Arts Déco in 1989, she has worked on a number of interior design projects. She regularly works for the press (Maison Française, Côté Sud). In tandem with Juliette Marange, she creates collections of rugs and objects for Toulemonde Bochart, fabrics for Nobilis Fontan, and linens for Moutet. They create large, loose linen canvases for Habitat, Baccarat vitrines and the Musée Du Bellay. She also exhibits at Galerie 13, rue Jacob, Librairie Lardanchet, Rue St Honoré, and antique dealers Claude and Alain Fassier in the Perche region. Still very much linked to the object, her works play with trompe l'œil, ambiguous mixes of real and fake, waste paper, salvaging, recycling, pigments and glue... she sometimes leaves her studio to put her hand to the patina: a restaurant 'La Voile' in Boston or a private house on the shores of the Bassin de Thau (Hérault)...
