Alain Thomas Alain Thomas was born on 14 February 1942 in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique. Self-taught, he started painting in 1962. His pictorial universe, colourful and poetic, is composed of animals from all over the world. In 2003, Alain Thomas was recognised in the French contemporary art world as a leader in 'naïve-primitive' painting. His highly individual style has enabled him to illustrate some twenty works in his forty-year career, including several children's stories, monographs, bestiaries and bibliophile books. Successfully exhibited in Paris, New York, Tokyo, Alain Thomas' paintings now decorate prestigious collections with unique know-how such as illuminations, Longwy enamels, Limoges porcelains, Lyon silks, Aubusson tapestries...
