"Become the great fixed eye open on the great whole"... Victor Hugo
The eye observes, contemplates, looks! It is both interior and exterior! It is symbol, it is protection!
In this collection by Céleste Mogador for Manufacture des Emaux de Longwy, the eye is revealed in all its mineral depth, like a plunge into the center of the universe.
For the artist, eyes are "good luck charms to fight evil spirits; they are bearers of hope and the future".

Designer
Celeste Mogador Born in Carhaix in the heart of Brittany, Pascale Nivet Bernetière lives and works in Rennes. She began her life as an artist under the name Mademoiselle Héloïse. The Céleste Mogador brand was created in 2016. Pascale is responsible for the artistic direction of all her creations: jewelry, accessories and decorative objects. She hand-embroidered the unique pieces. So who really is Céleste Mogador? Céleste Mogador is the pseudonym of Élisabeth-Céleste Vénard, the famous French Cancan dancer of the 19th century. She helped launch the career of La Goulue, another famous character of the period. It was this quirky, spectacular character and the sound of the name Céleste Mogador that seduced designer Pascale Nivet Bernetiere. Pascale Nivet Bernetiere's work is far removed from a cold, minimalist style. Colors, materials, patterns... the creative universe is rich in dreamy, gourmand symbols, each more vibrant than the last. Pascale likes to mix styles, often inspired by colorful pieces: the clothing patterns of the Sami and Inca peoples, Chinese masks... all childhood memories, nourished by traditional arts festivals, shows and books. Later, she dreamed of being a rock singer, a crazy aristo or Loulou de la Falaise. Pascale's universe is definitely rock, nourished by the pop rock music of Anglo-Saxon groups such as the Sex Pistols, Joy Division, The Verve, The Cure... and also by British fashion designers like Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. Today, Céleste Mogador is a brand of jewelry, accessories and decorative objects. Find out more about the artist: www.celeste-mogador.com
